Concessionaire/Gate Keeper/Paddle Rental – Seasonal

Rate: $11.00/hour – starting rate based on prior experience and education

Location: Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077

Position Description:  

Under direction of the Outdoor Education Manager, the Concessionaire assists the public in the concession area, paddle rental and admissions gate. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepares, serves, and sells food service items to the public. 
• Represents Lake Metroparks in a positive manner, provides exceptional customer service, keeps concession areas clean and well maintained. 
• Assists with inventory, special events, and programs when required. 
• Assists with paddle rental operations, including moving kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and fitting life jackets.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• First Aid Certificate recommended; training will be provided as necessary. 

Position Requirements: 

• Basic knowledge of Lake County.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to handle money appropriately.
• Ability to remain dependable.
• Ability to interact with others with tact and courtesy and maintain integrity and appropriate behavior in dealing with conflicts and challenges with the public, co-workers, and managers.
• Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Variable work schedule, up to 40 hours per week.
• May be occasionally required to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Must possess a valid drivers’ license and insurable on the Agency’s liability policy. Pre-employment background check required.
