Event and Marketing Coordinator

The Greater River North Business Association is dedicated to supporting businesses in the River North and Streeterville area in Chicago. Our signature events are key to raising funds and expanding our impact. We’re looking for an Event Coordinator to market and increase attendance for our existing events while managing all event logistics. This role does not involve creating new events but focuses on growing engagement and ensuring seamless execution.

Responsibilities:Marketing & Public Outreach:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to drive attendance at the association’s events.
  • Promote events through social media, email newsletters, press releases, and community outreach.
  • Collaborate with local businesses, media, and influencers to boost event visibility.
  • Create engaging promotional content and manage event listings across platforms.

Event Logistics & Execution:

  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venue setup, catering, A/V needs, and vendor management.
  • Ensure events run smoothly by overseeing setup, on-site operations, and breakdown.
  • Handle last-minute changes and troubleshoot issues to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Negotiate with vendors and venues to get the best pricing or donations

Sponsorship & Community Engagement:

  • Work with leadership to attract sponsors and community partners to support events.
  • Foster relationships with local businesses and organizations to enhance event participation.
  • Manage guest lists, VIP invitations, and stakeholder engagement.

Budget & Performance Tracking:

  • Manage event budgets efficiently while maximizing reach and impact.
  • Track attendance, marketing performance, and engagement metrics.
  • Provide post-event reports with insights and recommendations for future improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning, marketing, or public relations is ideal.
  • Strong marketing skills, especially in social media, email campaigns, and community outreach.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with attendees, sponsors, and partners.
