Summer Photography and Video Intern
Calling all BFA and MFA students studying photography, filmmaking or multimedia interested in working at the intersection of visual arts, regenerative agriculture, restaurant hospitality and culinary research.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is hiring a Summer Photography and Video Intern—a paid 8-10 week position.
About The Role:
Blue Hill at Stone Barns and our nonprofit farm partner, the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, are building a food and farming institute with the mission to develop a regional and ecological future of food.
The Summer Photography and Video Intern will contribute to this mission by working with Blue Hill’s Special Projects team to capture, edit, and archive content for Blue Hill and Stone Barns’ ongoing research and development. The Photo/Video intern will be responsible for:
- Shooting and archiving still photographs of research products
- Capturing photo and video content on the farm and in the kitchen
- Editing photo and video for use on digital platforms, including social media, and for internal use
The Summer Photography and Video Intern will work alongside Blue Hill’s Research Interns and participate in educational programming to develop interdisciplinary and firsthand food system knowledge. Through weekly readings, discussions, guest speakers, and occasional field trips, interns gain exposure to themes including pasture-based livestock management, regional grain economies, and fermentation. All interns will report directly to the Special Projects Managers. Blue Hill will provide educational materials, hands-on activities, and family meals on all on-site working days.
