Vibrant Leaders Development Program

The Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, South Carolina, offers the Vibrant Leaders Development Program, a paid summer internship designed for students of color currently enrolled in college. This nine-week program provides a comprehensive introduction to museum operations, including planning, organization, finance, marketing, and community engagement. Interns work 40 hours per week, gaining valuable insights and skills to support future careers in the arts.

Key Details:

  • Duration: Nine weeks during the summer months of May, June, July, and/or August.
  • Stipend: $15 per hour, plus an additional stipend to cover housing expenses. Please note that interns are responsible for their own travel expenses.
  • Eligibility: Open to students of color currently enrolled in college and interested in exploring a career in the arts.

Application Process:

  • Application Deadline: February 23, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. EST.
  • Notification: Applicants will be notified by April 1, 2025.
  • Application Materials: Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, a narrative addressing specific questions, three references, and a writing sample.
