Corgan is seeking a Communications Assistant to join our team in Dallas. The ideal candidate is proactive, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented with excellent writing and interpersonal skills. This is an entry-level position, and the role of Communications Assistant supports the breadth of the communications function of the firm. You will be responsible for internal communication efforts, owned media channel tactics including possible content development, and as needed, supporting external communications.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Write and develop internal campaigns and firm-wide communications and announcements for HR initiatives, culture, and internal events.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to direct, create, and publish content on the company's corporate intranet, ensuring it remains current and engaging.
  • Maintain the quality, consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness of internal communication channels while ensuring all communications adheres to brand standards.
  • Work with the communication leaders to execute integrated internal communications and change management plans for the organization and its leadership.
  • Work closely with the copywriters, graphics, and IT as necessary to ensure effective communication elements and formats.
  • Regularly identify firm benchmarks and promote project updates, milestones, and awards and syndicate existing content on owned and shared channels - effectively managing the employee advocacy program.
  • Research, create, and manage media lists, awards, community involvement opportunities and more.
  • Track and report media coverage, work with the team to ensure website is populated with top media stories and leveraged for social media content.

Qualifications

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications
  • Experience supporting corporate/internal communications and PR
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop and edit communication/PR materials
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with good intuition
  • Strategic thinking abilities are necessary
  • Commitment to meet deadlines and achieve tangible results
  • Comfortable developing strong interpersonal relationships with internal clients
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently
  • Effective team player - flexible, reliable, and positive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with the following is highly desirable:
    • SharePoint
    • ContactMonkey and/or Mailchimp
    • Sprout Social
    • Additional print/digital design skills
