Assay Research & Development (R&D) is responsible for development, verification and validation for PCR-based molecular devices and the detection of infectious disease through the use of molecular biology tools.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in supporting business operations through assigned duties under Diasorin staff supervision.
- Shadow and network with employees on cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of overall company concept including the Diasorin brand, customers, product lines/goals and all other aspects of service.
- Provides ideas to grow and improve the business. Participates in department meetings and connect points.
- Participates in designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions and present a final Capstone project at the end of the internship.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
- Assay R&D offer two project avenues to select from, those avenues include:
- Assisting with proof of principle testing on antigen directed synthesis of nucleic acids, SDS-PAGE gels, qPCR analysis and experimental design and execution OR
- Assisting with operating an extraction platform, assisting with DNA/RNA extractions from clinical specimens and completing applicable documentation associated with said extractions
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in progress required. Currently enrolled in a University or College Program that is accredited. Preferred Area of Study: Science Major or related study (Biology, Genetics or Biotechnology)
- Capable of working and communicating within a multi-site environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior hands-on experience with micropipettes preferred
- Comfortable working with specimen (i.e., stool)
- Excellent Knowledge of
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Attention to Detail without losing site of the big picture
- Being A Team Player
- Operating with Professionalism

The hourly posting for this position is $20.00 Hourly.
