Application Deadline: Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Starting Salary: $66,950.00 – $81,681.34

Top Salary: $103,120.81 – $109,400.87

Minimum Requirements:

$25 non-refundable application fee.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident.
Valid driver’s license. Must obtain an IL license upon time of hire. 
POWER test card – must be dated within one year of the written exam. Illinois Certified Police Officers are not required to have a POWER test card. 
High school diploma or GED.
Must be 20 years of age at the time of test (3/30/2025) and 21 years of age at the time of appointment. 
Must be under 35 years of age at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt by State Statue 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6.
Character – Must not have committed any felony, qualifying misdemeanor or crime involving moral turpitude and be of good moral character pursuant to 50 ILCS 705-6.
Required Documentation due by the application deadline:

Copy of high school diploma/GED
Copy of valid driver’s license
Copy of proof of authorization to work in the United Sates.  May include: U.S. County/State issued birth record, U.S. Passport, Naturalization Papers, or Permanent Resident Card
Copy of POWER test card – must be dated no earlier than March 30, 2024
Orientation and Testing:
Sunday, March 30, 2025
Sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 8:30 a.m. – no late admittance. Testing will be held at: Markham Park District, 16053 Richmond Ave., Markham, IL. Additional details regarding the orientation and testing will be provided at a later time.
