After-School Program Facilitator

Position Title: After-School Program Facilitator

Reports to: Assistant Director of Afterschool

Position Status: Part-Time, Non-exempt

 

Summary of Position: Responsible for assisting in developing and implementing quality after-school programming at the Girls Inc. facility. The incumbent will assist with the daily programming and supervision of children in grades Kindergarten – 6th grade and 7th-12th grade are our teen groups.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  1. Developing and maintaining a positive, equitable, accessible, safe and supportive environment for girls, which supports individual choice and fosters independence
  2. In conjunction with the support staff, responsible for implementation and evaluation of after-school programs and activities.
  3. Facilitate workshops within the group assigned and/or clubs assigned.
  4. Assist in supervising and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for the after-school programs that follow and provide choices and opportunities for participants delivered by Program Specialists in areas of including, but not limited to, theater and arts; health and wellness; STEM; financial literacy.
  5. Prepare daily after-school-program activities’ materials and spaces.
  6. Communicating with and addressing behavior concerns as well as any parent/guardian concerns and questions promptly and appropriately.
  7. Maintain accurate up to date records for attendance, daily program participation/check lists, child Incident Report documents, and parent communication.
  8. Participating in walk-line for program pick up 
  9. Participating in dismissal with parent pick up 
  10. Distributing pre/post surveys as required by grants.
  11. Other duties as assigned

*After-School Program Facilitators are expected work hours are Monday-Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Holidays and school closings may require more time as outlined by the approved Worcester Public Schools calendar

Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  2. 6 months to 1 (one) year of experience working with young people is required
  3. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing youth programs preferred
  4. Organizational skills with attention to detail and maintaining accurate records
  5. Mature, responsible, organized, with strong time management skills
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  7. Ability to solve problems and make improvements

Physical Capabilities:

  1. Must be able to walk outside 1 mile daily for participant pick up 
  2. Must be able to comfortably lift to 25lbs 

 

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 to $18 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
