The Student Worker - Fleet Assistance position supports the department's fleet operations. This role involves various tasks related to vehicle maintenance, record keeping, and general office duties, contributing to the efficient and safe operation of the university/organization's fleet. This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience in fleet management and administrative support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance Support:
    • Assist with scheduling and tracking vehicle maintenance and repairs.
    • Perform basic vehicle checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure, lights) and report any issues.
    • Deliver vehicles to and from maintenance facilities.
    • Assist with cleaning and organizing fleet vehicles.
    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with processing paperwork and other administrative tasks.
    • Maintain and organize fleet-related documentation (e.g., registration, insurance, maintenance records).
    • Assist with data entry and record keeping related to vehicle usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
    • Prepare reports and summaries as needed.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist with special projects as assigned.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Current student in good standing.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Maximum of 25 hours per week, generally between 8am and 5pm.
  • Days of the week: Preferably Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Flexible schedule available.

Payrate Determination

All students' pay rate is $10.00 an hour for this position.
