This position supports the agency's mission by providing wildland fire suppression services to, and on behalf of, the public. This critical service protects public resources, natural resources, and public safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of 4 squad bosses and 14 seasonal wildland firefighters. This includes training, assigning tasks, and delegating responsibilities. Supervision will take place while suppressing wildfires, assisting in implementing fuels reduction and community resilience projects.
- Assist crew superintendent in the hiring of crewmembers on a yearly basis.
- Perform other roles within their qualification level on the fire line.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in wildland fire suppression tactics and fire behavior/pattern recognition.
- Certified as a NWCG Incident Commander Type 5 and Firefighter Type 1.
