Summer Intern, Biochemistry
The Position
Join our Discovery Team and gain hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical research. This internship focuses on supporting targeted drug delivery efforts through antibody screening, protein expression and purification, and binding kinetic assessments. You will work in an interdisciplinary research environment, contributing to molecular and cell biology experiments that support therapeutic development. This is a unique opportunity to develop laboratory skills, analyze data, and collaborate with scientists in advancing next-generation drug discovery.
This is a 12-week, fully onsite Summer Internship Program paying $22.00/hr.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mammalian cell culture for protein expression and purification
- Perform protein characterization and validation using molecular biology techniques
- Evaluate protein binding kinetics through experimental analysis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in a laboratory notebook
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to support targeted drug discovery efforts
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled student at an Accredited University or College and majoring in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related area of study
- Completion of at least one semester of organic chemistry and one semester of organic chemistry lab.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn new techniques
- Ability to work in a lab setting for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of molecular binding, biochemistry, protein expression, and purification
