SIGN ON BONUS $7,000

 

 

I. POSITION SUMMARY

 

The RN renders collaborative nursing care via the Method of Practice, Patient Coordinated Care, to a caseload of patients for an assigned shift in accordance with the healthcare practitioner’s treatment plan, nursing standards of care/practice and professional code of ethics. The RN is committed to promoting the health potential of the patient (body-mind-spirit) through the implementation of the nursing process.  Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriately and direct staff in the coordination and delivery of care; assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of care resources; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution, is sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow workers.

     

II. SUPERVISION

 

  1. Reports directly to the Emergency Department Manager
  2. Reports indirectly to the House Supervisor and other managers covering the department.
  3. Delegates and directs assigned shift caseload team which may be comprised of RN’s, NSS LPN and NSS CNA.

 

III. QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Graduate of School of Nursing
  2. Current Nebraska State License or Compact license as a Registered Nurse required.
  3. Clinical and/or work nursing experience in a hospital with ability to perform duties in the emergency department setting is preferred.
  4. Professional knowledge of nursing practice, and regulation to support patient care delivery.
  5. Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire and maintained.
  6. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire and maintained.
  7. TNCC required within one year of hire.
  8. NRP preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  9. Job functions must be performed on site with regular attendance.
  10. ICS 100 and 200 or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

 

IV. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS  

  1. Demonstrate commitment to the organizational mission, vision, and core values.
  2. Maintain clinical competency as required for emergency department including but not limited to age-specific competencies relative to growth and developmental needs of all ages of patients.
  3. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to nursing applications and relative practice area.
