Environmental Analyst Intern

Project Description

 

Work with the Environmental Services staff to support environmental compliance and reporting requirements. Work as an entry level Environmental Analyst doing tasks that support the tools, programs, and databases used to perform various compliance tasks such as data collection and analysis for compliance review, stack testing report review, report compilation, field work, and assist with field inspections. Through practical environmental compliance related experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

 

This will be a yearlong opportunity (start date of January 2025) with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer.  If the intern works during the school year, their hours should be part-time.

 

Minimum Requirements

Enrolled in programs focused on Science, Technology, or Mathematics, such as computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, data science, drafting, gas design, electric design, project management, construction management, chemistry, biology, environmental studies, natural sciences, and similar.

Weekly travel likely between NSP generating plants (primarily covering Twin Cities Metropolitan Area)

Environmental Studies/Environmental Engineering, or related field

Excel Spreadsheet (Microsoft Suite)
