Position Title: College Assistant – Content Creator
Department: Career Center
Location: Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY)
Hours: 15 hours per week till June 30, 2025
Compensation: $18.54 per hour
Position Overview:
The Hunter College Career Center is seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented College Assistant to join our Student Marketing Team. This role will focus on developing engaging content to promote Career Center programs, events, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends, content creation, and an interest in career development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create compelling content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) to increase student engagement.
- Develop short-form video content highlighting events, student testimonials, career tips, and employer spotlights.
- Design visually appealing graphics and promotional materials for digital marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with Career Center staff and student marketing team to brainstorm content ideas and strategies.
- Assist in managing the Career Center's social media calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
- Monitor social media analytics to track engagement and suggest areas for improvement.
- Support the promotion of career-related events, workshops, and employer sessions.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in marketing, communications, social media, or related fields.
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.).
- Basic skills in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing apps (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with an eye for detail and design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience managing social media accounts or creating content for student organizations.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools and trends in student engagement.
- Interest in career readiness and student development.
- Bonus: Having your own equipment for content creation (camera, microphone, video editing tools, etc.) is a plus.
