Theater and Film Teacher

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic part-time Theater and Film Teacher to join our team. This position is perfect for a college or graduate student who loves the arts and wants to share their enthusiasm with young learners. The ideal candidate will have a background in theater and film, or performing arts and be eager to engage with children in a creative and educational environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Teach Classes: Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in theater and film for children (ages 6-14).
  • Foster Creativity: Encourage students to explore their creativity through acting, improvisation, film production, and storytelling.
  • Provide Positive Classroom Environment: Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where students feel safe to express themselves and take creative risks.
  • Support Student Growth: Help students develop communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills through arts-based activities.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other educators and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the program and student success.
  • Prepare for Performances/Projects: Guide students through creating a final performance or film project that showcases their hard work and creativity.
  • Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to students and maintain open communication with parents regarding progress.

Qualifications:

  • Current college or graduate student pursuing a degree in Theater, Film, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
  • A strong passion for the arts and a genuine desire to work with children.
  • Previous experience in teaching, theater production, or film (preferred but not required).
  • Creativity, energy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt lessons for different age groups and skill levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Hours & Compensation:
