Job Description

We are seeking a Backend Programmer Intern for a 3-6 month internship. As an intern, you will assist in developing and maintaining the backend systems of our credentialing software. You will work closely with our CTO, front-end developers, and other team members to build scalable and efficient backend systems while gaining hands-on experience in a real-world development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining backend systems using Python with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Support the design and implementation of RESTful APIs for communication between the backend and front-end systems.
  • Collaborate with the CTO, front-end developers, and UI/UX designers to ensure seamless integration of front-end and backend functionalities.
  • Follow best practices for backend development, including performance optimization, security, and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in backend development.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Python and familiarity with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work remotely.

Preferred

  • Experience or coursework related to DevOps tools (Docker, GitHub, Jira) and AWS Managed Services.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB and cloud-based database solutions.
  • Interest in healthcare IT or medical software applications.
