Grant Writing & Corporate Sponsorships Intern for Women in Tech Nonprofit

About Oasis Collective: Oasis Collective is a dynamic nonprofit at the intersection of tech, AI, and women’s leadership. Recognized by the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and several other esteemed publications, we are rapidly scaling our operations in San Francisco and Boston. Our mission is to foster an inclusive and high-impact community for women in tech, particularly AI, by hosting premier networking events, supporting founders and leaders, and addressing the funding gap for women entrepreneurs. As we expand, we are seeking a motivated and talented Grant Writing & Corporate Sponsorship Intern to help drive our fundraising efforts and ensure sustainable growth.

About the Role: As our Grant Writing & Corporate Sponsorship Intern, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding for Oasis Collective. Your work will directly contribute to expanding opportunities for women in tech, during a critical at-risk point in history. We are looking for a self-starter who excels at writing persuasive grant proposals and sponsorship decks, while working both independently and collaboratively with our CEO. This is an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, corporate partnerships, and the business of scaling a mission-driven organization, with a rare high-degree of agency and responsibility compared to typical internships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Oasis Collective’s mission and programming.
  • Draft compelling grant proposals, applications, and corporate sponsorship decks.
  • Collaborate directly with the CEO to refine fundraising materials and identify high-potential sponsors.
  • Engage with leading tech companies and AI-focused organizations to secure funding partnerships.
  • Track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements for grant applications.
  • Assist in developing funding-related communications for external stakeholders and our community.
  • Assist in developing fundraising strategies, donor outreach plans, and impact reporting templates.

What We Offer:

  • Performance-Based Stipend for Secured Grants: While this is an unpaid internship, Oasis Collective values the work and impact of our grant writing team. To recognize contributions, we offer a performance-based stipend for successfully secured grants that include funding for personnel. If an intern secures a grant that allocates funds toward salaries or staff compensation, they will receive 5-8% of the personnel-allocated portion as a stipend.
  • Brand-Building & Exposure: High-visibility recognition for your knowledge and contributions, with opportunities to publish thought pieces in our newsletter, be featured on our LinkedIn and other social media platforms, and gain recognition in the AI and tech community.
  • Industry Access & Networking: Gain insider access to San Francisco and Boston’s AI and other tech ecosystems, including recognition at Oasis events at locations like ivy league universities and top VC firms, where you’ll get to network with major corporate sponsors and tech leaders.
  • Portfolio Development: Build a robust portfolio of high-quality and big-name grant applications and sponsorship proposals, with tangible success metrics to showcase to future employers.
  • High-Impact Mentorship: Receive direct mentorship from our CEO, who has deep expertise in business consulting and nonprofit leadership and fundraising, as well as other seasoned team members.
  • Hands-on Experience in Scaling a Nonprofit: Learn about nonprofit operations, funding programs, and how to drive real-world impact at an early-stage organization.
  • Engagement with Leading Tech Companies: Collaborate with executives and decision-makers at top tech firms as part of our corporate sponsorship outreach.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Work remotely with flexible hours that accommodate academic, work, and personal schedules.
  • A Great Team Culture: We prioritize inclusion, enrichment, empathy, gratitude, and personal growth in our internal culture at Oasis. Your ideas will always be met with respect and we foster a vibrant learning environment, where there are no stupid questions and your personal and professional growth will be prioritized.

Who You Are:

  • Previous experience or studies in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development. A strong writer with exceptional research and storytelling skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with experience drafting proposals or persuasive writing.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively.
  • Passionate about gender equity, tech, and social impact.
  • Comfortable navigating funding landscapes, including grants and corporate sponsorships.
  • A strategic thinker who can align fundraising goals with organizational growth.
  • A student or early-career professional looking to gain high-impact nonprofit experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required but a Plus!):

  • Understanding of the tech or AI ecosystem, particularly in startup or corporate environments.
  • Experience working with CRMs, donor databases, or fundraising software.
  • Background in business writing, communications, or nonprofit management.

Time Commitment: This is a remote internship with a flexible schedule. We ask for a minimum commitment of 8-10 hours per week for at least 3 months, with the potential to extend based on performance and interest.

How to Apply: Interested? Submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you’re passionate about this role, or email to juliet@oasiscollective.org. If you have writing samples (e.g., previous grant proposals, persuasive essays, or business communications), please include them as well.

Join us in building a future where women have the support, resources, and leadership opportunities they deserve, and are empowered to shape the tech products that influence our society as we know it!
