Wood Composites Chemist Intern
Internship Responsibilities and Learning Objectives:
- Assist the research chemists in the development of new products. Specific activities will include preparing samples, application testing, and quality checks.
- Become knowledgeable about the wood composites manufacturing process.
- Become knowledgeable about the Chem-Trend wood composites product line.
- Understand wood composites test methods and how they correlate to customer production.
- Learn to properly handle hazardous raw materials.
- Actively participate in weekly team meetings and provide project updates.
- Learn how to present data and results in a meaningful manner.
Required Qualifications:
- At least two years of college coursework completed in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Understanding of or previous experience in a laboratory.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in lab setting.
- Understanding usage of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Desire to learn Chemistry concepts.
- Proficient in Technical writing.
- Detail oriented.

This position is onsite 5 days per week.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

This is a temporary, summer internship with no benefits.
