International Dialogue Programming Summer Intern
NOTE: Only applications submitted through the World Food Prize Foundation website will be considered.
Every year, the International Dialogue Team at the World Food Prize Foundation plans and coordinates the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, otherwise known as the Borlaug Dialogue. This symposium attracts foreign dignitaries, heads of state, US senators and representatives, as well as experts in global food insecurity, agriculture, technological innovation, and policy from around the world. The International Dialogue Team also plans and implements the Iowa Hunger Summit, which brings together Iowans from around the state to collectively eradicate hunger. International Dialogue Interns are highly qualified undergraduate or graduate students, who will have the opportunity to assist in the planning of the Borlaug Dialogue and the Iowa Hunger Summit. Interns develop tremendous insight into the logistics associated with event planning while gaining management experience. Interns are organized, problem-solvers, and self-starters. - Outreach to local and national partners
- Work with the Borlaug Dialogue planning team to organize panel discussions, roundtable sessions, side events and workshops
- Research relevant academic literature in order to recommend panel topics to WFPF staff
- Attend agricultural events in order to seek out individuals to attend the Borlaug Dialogue
- Serve as a liaison to high-ranking attendees of the symposium
- Marketing and promoting the Iowa Hunger Summit and Iowa Hunger Directory
- Website content creation
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, a passion for addressing global food insecurity issues, a capacity for analytical and problem solving thinking, impeccable attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.
