
Event Catering Support (Work-Study Program)
Position Summary:
Work with the Catering Chefs and the Catering Team to deliver and serve food at scheduled events around campus. Set up events, serve, clean, organize, and work closely with front and back of house teams to ensure proper execution of the events. Additionally, help organize the catering kitchen, help prepare for upcoming events, and responds to staffing/customer needs quickly, efficiently, professionally and with a sense of urgency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
- Logs and maintains food temperatures.
- Arranges tables and decorations.
- Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage and service items according to established standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Thoroughly clean event location after event is completed, including trash.
- Returns food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to the catering facility.
- Distributes and collects customer comment cards for catered functions.
- Stocks, cleans and maintains the catering facility and equipment.
- Insure all guests receive friendly and courteous service at all times.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.
- Follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times.
- Must be willingly to communicate clearly, professionally, and politely with customers as well as other staff members.
- Other duties may be assigned.
