Summer Behavior Technician Internship

Apply for a Behavior Technician role with Acclaim Autism. Technicians work directly with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition in patients' homes, schools and community settings, as well as in our clinics. This is a internship role, with an average of between 15 to 37.5 hours per week.

Provide your availability to us and we will provide an estimated schedule. You don’t need to be certified today - we’ll train you to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®). Some people choose to stay in a part-time or full-time RBT position, while many choose to pursue this as a career. Acclaim Autism provides training for technicians to become certified and supports candidates through mentorship and development. We also can help you obtain the education and supervision necessary to pursue a career as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst - a rewarding and fulfilling career.


BT/RBT duties include:
● Travel to clients’ homes, schools or other community settings to provide services.
● Learn an individual client's treatment plan to understand their individual goals and behaviors.
● Work with a client 1:1 to teach them social and behavioral skills by following the programs and teaching plans created by a clinical supervisor.
● Document therapy sessions in the electronic health record system by taking data on a client's actions and writing a summary at the end of each shift.

● Meet routinely with your designated supervisor to review client specific updates as well as receive feedback and training to grow your professional development.

Qualifications
● Enrolled in a post-secondary program or completed a program. Preferred (not required) majors are psychology, social work, or similar human services field.
● One year of cumulative experience working and/or volunteering with children or teens (this can include summer camp employment or volunteer periods adding up to one year).
● Reliable, punctual and organized; strong work ethic.
● Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
● No sanctions of disciplinary actions taken against one’s license/certification, Medicaid funding, or federal contracts, if any (if you have questions, please contact us).

● Must pass all clearances, including PA child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprinting, PA criminal record check, Federal criminal record check, county criminal record check, sex offender, PA driver’s license check
● Optional: Additional language skills in any language (Spanish, Chinese-Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese & others).
