General Description
The Accounting Internship at Hubbard Construction Company provides relevant field experience for junior or senior level finance students. Our internship program provides a realistic view of what it's like to work in accounting through meaningful, hands-on experiences. The ideal candidate will assist with various accounting tasks, contribute to financial analysis, and help ensure the accuracy of financial data within the organization.
Key Duties May Include:
- Assist in preparing and processing journal entries and reconciliations
- Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets, and databases
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Qualification Requirements

Education and Experience. This is an internship. Students must be enrolled in a college or university pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance or Accounting. Proficient PC skills including a proficiency in various software used such as Excel. Familiarity or an internship with payroll practices preferred. Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow employees.
Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Payroll Intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may regularly be required to walk or stand and occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Human Resources Intern encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and manufacturing facilities may be required.
- Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet.
