Content Creator

Gooch and Fifty in Union County, Ga, revolves around local Union County history, its people, places, and things. In order to enhance the experience of the Gooch and Fifty project, the director is looking to find an operations manager, to get guided walking tours going in Downtown Blairsville, and is also looking for a good content creator who can make great social media content for their social media pages and to keep the website organized and up to date. 

 

Content Creators (1-3 positions) As for content creators, the director is looking for someone who can make videos at historical places associated with subjects that are being covered. The director is looking to post 1-2 videos per week but also needs someone who is great at graphic design, as well as articulate, and who can voiceover the videos. The director may also need someone who can help keep up with the Facebook page (Including Trivia and Rewards) and other social media pages. Lastly, the director will be working with another woman who is helping him put together a podcast to cover local history, people, and other subjects related to the project. However, they both stay pretty busy and sometimes are out of town, so, if they can find someone younger with great speaking and digital skills to help when needed, it would be a plus. 

 

Job Qualifications: 

1. Dependability and Punctuality Reliable and consistent in meeting content creation deadlines, ensuring the production of at least 1-2 historical-based videos per week for social media. Must be punctual and dependable in arriving at filming locations and managing time effectively to meet production schedules. 

2. Transportation to Film Locations Must have reliable transportation to travel to various filming locations as needed for content creation. Ability to handle logistics of traveling to multiple sites while maintaining efficient production workflows. 

3. Excellent Communication Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Capable of delivering historical content in an engaging and informative way, both through scriptwriting and direct interaction with audiences. Ability to handle customer or viewer inquiries in a professional manner, ensuring clear communication regarding content or technical issues. 

4. Articulate Speaking Skills for Voiceovers Clear, engaging, and professional speaking voice for recording high-quality voiceovers for educational videos. Ability to adjust tone, pace, and style to suit different video themes and create a compelling narrative. Comfortable with recording and editing voiceover content to align with video objectives and audience expectations. 

5. Graphic Design Skills Strong graphic design abilities, with experience in creating visually appealing graphics and visual content using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools. Ability to create eye-catching thumbnails, social media posts, promotional images, and other supporting visuals to enhance video content. A keen eye for design consistency, ensuring that all visual assets align with brand and historical accuracy. 

6. Video Production and Editing Expertise Proficient in shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content using industry-standard software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.). Experience in both filming and post-production, including video editing, color correction, sound design, and adding motion graphics or other enhancements. Creative approach to video storytelling, capable of producing visually dynamic and historically informative videos for both social media and website content. 

7. Organizing Historical Content Ability to organize and catalog historical photos, newspaper clippings, and other archival materials in a methodical manner, either by relevance or chronology. Willingness to assist in the creation of digital archives and support the process of preparing materials for use in video content creation or educational resources. 

8. Website Content Management and Organization Proficient in managing content on websites, ensuring that video and educational materials are well-organized, updated, and accessible to users. Ability to assist in keeping the website’s content and layout organized, ensuring ease of navigation and a seamless user experience. Basic understanding of website maintenance and content management systems (CMS) is a plus. 

9. Research and Content Enhancement Strong research skills to help gather additional material or historical information for content creation and website enrichment. Willingness to actively assist with researching and fact-checking historical content to ensure accuracy and relevance. Able to track down rare sources, images, or articles that will improve the educational value of videos and online content. 

10. Creativity and Innovation Creative mindset, bringing fresh ideas for content creation and ways to present historical material in engaging and accessible formats. Ability to think outside the box when it comes to visual storytelling, ensuring content is engaging for diverse audiences across platforms. 

A successful Content Creator will be dependable, skilled in video production and graphic design, and passionate about creating engaging historical content. This individual will support the creation of high-quality educational videos, improve existing content on the website, help organize historical materials, and maintain the organization of online resources. They must be able to manage multiple tasks effectively, from production to research, while ensuring that all content meets high standards.
