Clinical Generalist Pharmacist

Clinical Generalist Pharmacist; DH – Fort Wayne, IN

Our client, a large healthcare entity in Northwest Indiana, has a need for a Clinical Generalist Pharmacist in Fort Wayne, IN. The clinical generalist will provide pharmaceutical care services to the patients of 2 hospital locations in Central and North Fort Wayne.  Clinical generalists rotate through clinical and distribution services, however, anticipate being assigned to a clinical pharmacist role >60% of the month. 

Salary: $108,000 - $162,000

Main Responsibilities:

  • Multidisciplinary rounds 7 days per week
  • Oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing, and proper documentation of patient medication therapy
  • Advising physicians on matters pertaining to drug usage and control
  • Providing drug information, patient information, and oversight of information and dispensing processes and systems is also critical.
  • Clinical practices include: dosing and monitoring anticoagulants, antimicrobials including vancomycin, total parenteral nutrition, patient-controlled analgesia, and others.
  • Generalists have ample opportunity to mentor pharmacy IPPE/APPE students, five (5) PGY1 pharmacy residents and one (1) PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy resident.

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Candidates must have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency or have equivalent hospital practice experience
  • Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility, in Indiana is required
