Laboratory Intern
Job Description
We are looking for Harvest Laboratory Interns who want to participate in hands on learning in the wine industry during the 2025 harvest. This is a temporary internship; dates are generally between August and December, depending on the start of harvest. The locations are for both Robert Mondavi Winery and The Prisoner Wine Company. Schedules are determined on an as needed basis to keep up with grape processing. This may include weekend work, overtime as needed and staggered work weeks and start times.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine chemical analysis of juice, fermenting juice and finished wine.
- Collect samples from tanks and barrels, prepare samples for analysis.
- Assist in the Harvest crush process, prepare samples for analysis.
- Prepare reagents and standardize as required.
- Enter data accurately
- Develop proficiency in use of lab analytical equipment.
- Conduct routine daily calibration and Quality Control analyses.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Policies.
- Maintain clean, orderly and safe working environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be available to work flexible shifts (including evenings and weekends) from August through November.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Currently enrolled in a related field of study (enology, viticulture, chemistry or another related field) or recent graduate (within one year).
Preferred Qualifications
- Production experience in cellar, operations, process or related.
- Experience with Access Database, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
Work Environment:
- Works outdoors/indoors
- Works in warm/cold climates
- Works in high places
- Works on wet surfaces
- Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals
- Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic
- Must be able to move up to 55 lbs
Primary office environment may be cellar and lab setting
Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The salary range for this role is
$19.00- $29.50 an hour
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
