Financial Services Intern: General Accounting

JOB SUMMARY:
As part of our 2025 Summer Internship Program, we are currently looking for a Financial Services Intern to join our team. This is a full-time, onsite internship in our Detroit office with an hourly rate of pay of $20, paid parking, and three paid holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day).
The Financial Services Intern will work in our General Accounting area with the firm’s Accounting Analyst to assist with various projects, including tasks involving account reconciliation, records organization, communication with vendors, and system organization and updates.
Required Qualifications:
- Full-time college/university enrollment, working toward Bachelor’s degree (or other advanced degree) in a related Business discipline with plans to return to school for at least another term/semester/quarter following the internship.
- Overall minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work in Detroit, Michigan from mid-May 2025 into August 2025 without relocation or housing assistance.
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
CANDIDATES MUST ALSO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with varying audiences;
- Basic math skills;
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.;
- Strong team-orientation and ability to collaborate across business segments and with personnel at all levels of the organization;
- Critical thinking skills;
- Self-motivation, working independently, understanding written and verbal instructions;
- Accepting responsibility for producing work that is complete, timely, effective and accurate;
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; highly organized; and
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate level of discretion.
