Mechanical Engineer 1
Responsibilities
- Configure, test, and productionize next generation energy products
- Create specifications and design of new vehicles using 2D and 3D Design Software
- Optimize design in the electrical + mechanical space, reducing cost and complexity of existing hardware
- See product design from conception, prototype, test, production, and implementation
- Engage and collaborate with global supply chain to manufacture custom components
- Interface with customers in technical documentation, service, and support
Requirements
- Experience in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Electrical Engineering
- A passion for sustainable energy and a bias for ownership and action
- Engaged, proactive, and positive while solving very challenging problems
- Understanding of electromechanical system fundamentals and associated dynamics
- Ability to run lab tests, interpret data and draw conclusions about system performance
- Strength in 2D/3D Design Software (Inventor Preferred)
- Three professional or academic references
Desired Competencies
- Extracurricular design and engineering as a project owner (FSAE, Baja, Robotics, etc.)
- Excitement to engage and own all physical systems
- Strong balance of academic fundamentals and hands-on building experience
- Understanding of circuits and fundamentals of electrical design and controls
- Static and dynamic structural design and optimization
- OEM design experience with on/off road vehicles and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerancing analysis
