Location
We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated contributor to join our team in one of our key office locations: San Francisco. Our interns will be hybrid - sometimes you'll work from home, sometimes you'll work from the office. Managers and their organization will establish the frequency you'll need to go into the office to meet priorities.
About the Internship
Okta is looking for a motivated and eager Strategic Communications Intern to help assist the Business Technology (BT) department at Okta. As an Intern, you will play a vital role in developing and executing a variety of communication and operational strategies that are designed to better enable our management team and employees in a way that positively impacts our team culture! Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff for the SVP of BT, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment while contributing to impactful projects that drive our technological initiatives forward.
The ideal candidate should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate a strong sense of curiosity and eagerness to learn, be highly team-oriented, and exhibit a strong work ethic.
What You’ll Get To Do
Assist in the creation and distribution of internal communications materials, including updates, announcements, and presentations.
Assist in the development of communication strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance employee comprehension of key initiatives.
Partner with various leaders (in BT and other departments) to gather information and insights for internal communications.
Help organize and promote internal events and initiatives aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal communications efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing communication strategies.
Serve as an advocate for company and team culture.
Who We Are Looking For
Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field and graduating between December 2025 and June 2026 (inclusive).
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Highly motivated with a positive, self-starter attitude.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Exceptional communication with engaged listening skills, and ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.) preferred.
Okta’s Intern Program
As an intern, you’ll do real work that matters. While you’re on board, you’ll work on meaningful projects and have an opportunity to see what working at Okta is all about. You’ll also have the assistance of your mentor and manager to help you develop new skills.
Our interns have the opportunity to build a strong community - with their fellow interns, within their teams, and with the broader company. We want you to grow professionally and you’ll do that through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and Brown Bags. And of course, we want you to have fun too.
We offer 12 week internships in the U.S. in the Summer and 16 week co-ops in Canada.
