SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL or Reston, VA to provide technical expertise maintaining the readiness, automation, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of all SOSi cloud environments. In this role, you will play a key part in architecting, building, and deploying Cloud Native solutions to a wide array of internal and external .

 

 



Essential Job Duties

 

What You’ll Do

  • Operate as part of an innovation cell in the Office of the CTO designed to deliver innovation across SOSi and our customers
  • Perform hands on engineering designing and implementing cutting-edge infrastructure supporting a wide range of emerging technologies such as AI/ML supporting DDIL missions
  • Deploy well-architected solutions using a variety of Infrastructure as Code frameworks
  • Collaborate across SOSi customers and internal teams in innovation sprints to rapidly define, design, and deploy game changing capability
  • Author major sections in thought leadership articles, customer whitepapers, and Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents
  • Grow our emerging FinOps, SRE, Chaos Engineering, and Telemetry practice areas
  • Be the goto expert across a diverse Cloud Service Provider team (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM, NodeShift, and OCI)
  • Interact with the OSS community



Minimum Requirements

 

What You Need to be Successful

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred but not required. Candidates with extensive experience in cloud technologies and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect) will be considered.
  • Target 5 years experience or very strong work samples
  • Strong Technical Communicator who can take rough ideas/concepts and collaborative iterate with stakeholders to rapidly design and deliver effective solutions
  • Solid Background in:
    • AWS and Azure with some understanding of GCP and OCI
    • Cloud Native Infrastructure
    • Virtualization (virtual machines, containers, serverless)
    • Commercial and IL2-IL5 environments
  • Someone who thrives in dynamic R&D/lab environments over structured pre planned work



Preferred Qualifications

  • IL6 experience
  • Located in Huntsville AL or Reston VA
