Financial Analyst Intern

Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a FP&A intern, to join our Finance team.  The FP&A intern should be highly motivated and detail-oriented. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis within a fast-paced business environment.

 Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Automate financial reporting templates and enhance existing financial models to drive deeper analytics and insights
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial close activities
  • Assist with analysis of financial performance, such as evaluate and interpret key metrics, compare actuals to forecast, and investigate discrepancies
  • Support the preparation of financial presentations and management reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of the FP&A calendar to communicate monthly deadlines and key deliverables
  • Participate in projects to improve the quality and timeliness of financial processes
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to review existing reporting and assist in implementation of process improvements

 

Education/Background Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor’s degree program focused on Accounting or Finance with 2-3 years complete
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (HFM) is a plus

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 

  • Knowledge of financial principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical for success in this position.

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Typical office environment.
  • May periodically travel to visit company facilities in USA and Canada.
