Kumon Math & Reading Center in Forest Hills is conveniently located on 69th Avenue between Groton and Harrow Streets. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children. This is a part-time job that is offered year round during the school year and summer months.
Positions available on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:00pm - 7:30pm with an option of Wednesdays as well from 2:00pm-5:30pm.
Job Responsibilities for Kumon Assistant:
1. Work closely with children in guiding them to complete Math and Reading Worksheets
2. Assist in grading of Math and Reading Worksheets
3. Prepare materials for classwork and homework
4. Respond to general inquiries on the phone and via walk-in inquiries from prospective parents
5. Assist during any special events (open house, orientations, street festivals, etc.)
6. Organize the center and be sure it is clean and tidy
Job Responsibilities for Kumon Math Assistant: Must be proficient and able to help students up to calculus level math.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to work on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:00pm until 7:30pm with an option of also working Wednesdays, 2:00pm-5:30pm, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and 2 class days. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; Attention to detail; Dependable and reliable individuals; Must be a quick-learner with be able to multi-task; Excellent attendance and punctuality a must; Love of learning; Ability to work well with other team members; Strong math and reading skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children; Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word and Excel); Bi-lingual a plus; Previous experience working at a Kumon center, former/current Kumon students, high school and college students are encouraged to apply.
