Position Specific Summary
The Internal Auditor position in the City of Tucson’s City Manager’s Office performs audits of the organizations financial and information systems, assisting in assessing compliance with applicable standards and guidelines and sufficiency of internal controls.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Internal Auditor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Examines the city’s financial records, statements, and reports, verifying accuracy and consistency.
Examines the city’s information systems, assessing compliance with data security and storage requirements.
Reviews internal controls, policies, and procedures for effectiveness.
Drafts and presents reports of findings and analysis.
Identifies and recommends revisions and improvements to accounting practices and procedures.
Performs all other duties and tasks assigned.
Working Conditions
Mostly office environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors' degree
Work Experience: On (1) year of directly related experience.
License/Certification: Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License - Arizona Department of Transportation
*Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Accounting degree
