The Big Picture

Northland Community Church (https://welcometoncc.com/northland) is seeking a Lead Pastor who is a committed follower of Jesus Christ to guide our congregation towards spiritual growth and community engagement.

The Church

Northland Community Church (NCC) is located on M-66 about halfway between Lake City and McBain. This site was chosen because of its easy driving distance from local communities such as Cadillac, Lake City, McBain, Marion and Falmouth. Our church was founded in 1991 as a non-denominational church to give the community an opportunity to worship without denominational boundaries where everyone would feel welcome. While we try to be flexible in how we worship, we continue to be a church where the Bible is taught as God’s perfect word. Our church building was built in 1996 and since then there have been additions to the worship space and the classrooms. We also added the Sunshine Chapel so the children could meet and worship as a whole group. The kitchen has recently been updated. The building is over 12,000 square feet with a separate youth building. The buildings are well maintained and sit on 43 acres. Northland currently has an average Sunday morning worship attendance of 70, with 43 members. Basic Training (our children’s church) has an average of 15 kids attending on Sunday morning.

Characteristics:

Doctrinal Adherence: Must be in full agreement with our church constitution and doctrinal statement.

Theological Education: A seminary degree is preferred but not required. Formal training in pastoral ministry and a firm grasp of theology are essential.

Pastoral Experience: Previous experience as a Lead Pastor is preferred but not mandatory.

Motivated and Relational: Must be a self-starter capable of building strong relationships within the congregation and community.

Effective Communication: Must be a capable communicator who can effectively teach and preach the Word of God in a way that inspires, encourages, and admonishes.

Evangelistic Heart: A passion for sharing Jesus with unbelievers and will lead the church in outreach and evangelism efforts.

Leadership Style: A point man who will work with the church leaders to develop and implement a strategic vision to foster a culture of spiritual growth and discipleship and improve the church ministry's overall effectiveness. 

Leadership Development: A commitment to mentoring and developing leaders within the congregation.

The Compensation

$60,000-$69,000 plus benefits
