AAU Junior Olympics - Content Coordinator

CONTRACT POSITION – CONTENT COORDINATOR 

2025 AAU Junior Olympic Games 


 

EVENT SUMMARY 

 

The AAU Junior Olympic Games are known as the largest youth multi-sport event in the United States. It consists of roughly 15,000 youth participants from around the country competing in 12+ sports and includes an action-packed Celebration of Athletes. In attendance are teams, coaches, family, and friends, many of whom make the trip to Houston for their family’s summer vacation. This summer will mark the 59th anniversary and the 4th time Houston has hosted the Games, so the bar is set high. Help us exceed expectations and show AAU everything that the city has to offer. POSITION DESCRIPTION 

This role will provide support to the Marketing team in various capacities. As a Content Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating dynamic digital content, including articles, social media posts, videos, photos, graphics, and other special projects. You will handle the production, shooting, and editing of photo and video content while assisting in the development of social media strategies to enhance our online presence and support marketing and sales initiatives. This position is from April 16, 2025, to August 15, 2025, with a primary focus on the 2025 AAU Junior Olympic Games. 
 

Please note: This is a contract position without benefits.
 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Collaborate with the HCHSA Social Media team to produce engaging content that aligns with the social media strategy and strengthens the brand's online presence.
  • Assist with content creation, scheduling, and publishing across platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Be able to quickly turn around content for various digital platforms.
  • Collaborate as part of a larger team to meet creative goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the creation and design of assets, including signage, event programs, billboards, and email marketing materials.
  • Produce, shoot, and edit photo and video content for social media and special projects.
  • Assist in maintaining content calendars on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Stay informed on platform trends, best practices, and audience sentiment to inform content decisions.
  • Participate in weekly content calls and cross-department brainstorming sessions.
  • Ensure all content is informative, visually appealing, and on-brand.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to execute social media strategies and manage digital sponsorship assets and obligations.
  • Provide onsite operational support at events as needed.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • BA in digital media, marketing, or a similar relevant field preferred.
  • Minium 2 years of digital media experience in a related field.
  • Proficient graphic design ability with skills in various Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Experience with marketing management and analytics tools, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital content trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
  • Interpersonal skills – listens to others, works well in a team environment
  • Can prioritize work activities and use time efficiently, follows instructions, responds to manager’s instructions.
  • Skilled at photography and videography via a variety of devices or cameras, along with editing.
