Within the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Office of Finance, Budget, and Economics is looking for a Fiscal Analyst 4 to join their Payroll Team as their Benefits and Records Management Specialist. In this role, you will be able to support the DNR in its mission, goals, and objectives by reviewing and establishing eligibility for benefits, preparing and processing payroll financial data for the agency, and providing excellent customer service. This position handles all aspects of payroll records transactions between DNR and other state agencies. You will act as the agency expert in benefits regarding rules and guidelines. You will be responsible for providing effective, efficient, and accurate accounting and technical reporting expertise and responsive customer service which result in accountability, OFBE credibility, and informed agency staff and customers.
Required Qualifications:
- Successful completion of 15 college credits of accounting, auditing, or budgeting (or completion of these courses within 12 months of hire).
- Three years of professional experience in business, accounting, auditing records management, or relevant field;
OR an equivalent combination of experience and/or education. - Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Excel & Word and experience using computer systems.
- Possess a detailed understanding of and experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Possess the ability to stay focused and prioritize workloads to meet hard deadlines while dealing with constant interruptions.
