Supply Chain Intern
POSITION SUMMARY
This position includes analyzing the movement of goods through the supply chain pipeline and assisting in buying and planning tactical functions. These functions include confirming order acknowledgments, setting up new parts within our ERP system, identifying and expediting backorders with our vendor community, some order entry, and the ability to communicate throughout multiple organizational levels.
Must be available to work onsite at Wausau Window and Wall Systems throughout the Summer of 2025.
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assure that the purchase orders created are delivered on schedule. This will be done through monitoring open order reports, working with the vendors to confirm ship dates, and updating the internal system to assure its accuracy
- Accountable for acknowledging daily purchase order confirmations from our vendor partners and sharing any discrepancies with the appropriate buyer and buyer/planner
- Responsible for part item data creation and maintenance
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects throughout the year
- Manages Linetec Buyout program
- Enters Triggers events from LMI for the release of material
- Manages the FRM program – Mfg. orders for small parts (set up, maintain, trigger, and schedule)
- Enter special invoice orders for the buyer/planner team
- Enter Tubelite small parts orders from Tubelite. Order doors/storefront materials from Tubelite
- Issue break metal sheet
- Enter orders for R&D projects
- Manages vendor sample inventory – (paint/anodized chips, screen mesh, color selection literature, etc.)
- Update pricing in EPICOR as needed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- The individual has to exhibit the culture of our core value fundamentals
- Must have strong organizational and data-entry skills with the ability to multi-task and meet on-going deadlines
- Should be familiar with supply chain logistics and production planning concepts, while pushing forward to continuously improve the current structure in place
- The ability to communicate effectively in a written and verbal manner to individuals and groups throughout all organizational levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with an understanding of ERP/MRP system processes
- Needs to be service-oriented, with a sense of persistence and tolerance, while working with our outside vendor partners and internal work groups
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Most of the time will be in an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. Some travel may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
