A Brief Overview

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about merchandising? We are looking for an Assistant Merchant to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our merchandising efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data, conducting competitor research, performing business analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of customer-facing information. Your work will be vital in maintaining efficient and effective merchandising processes, contributing to the overall success of our brand. As an Assistant Merchant, you will maintain data in assortment planning tools and communicate relevant merchandising information to cross-functional partners. You will research and analyze industry competitors, presenting your findings to inform strategic decisions. Additionally, you will gather and prepare information for weekly, seasonal, and annual business reviews, conduct ad-hoc analyses, and ensure the accuracy of information across all business channels. You will also develop expertise in the dance industry and gain a deep understanding of our customers through product and customer research.

What you will do

  • Data Management: Responsible for maintaining data in assortment planning tools, as well as, communicating relevant merchandising information to cross-functional partners
  • Competitor Research and Analysis: Use resources to research and analyze industry competitors. Present and communicate findings
  • Business Analysis: Responsible for gathering and preparing all information needed for weekly, seasonal, and annual business reviews, as well as, drawing product learning conclusions. Responsible for ad-hoc analysis as needed
  • Proofing: Responsible for accuracy of customer facing information for all business channels
  • Product and Customer Research: Become an expert of the dance industry and Weissman customer


 

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in fashion merchandising or related field is preferred


 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and be flexible to changes in priorities when necessary
  • Demonstrate ability to be a team player within merchandising and cross functional partners
