For nearly 25 years, The Morgan Adams Foundation has been funding the critical gaps in kids’ cancer research. Working with leading researchers and physicians, we focus on new and innovative ideas that will improve cancer treatment effectiveness, survival rates and quality of life while minimizing the devastating side effects current treatments have on our children. We are looking for a creative and motivated Communications Intern to join our team and support our efforts in raising awareness, engaging with our community, and promoting the impact of our work. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and contribute to meaningful causes.
Content Creation: Assist in the writing and editing of newsletters, press releases, and social media content to share our story and mission with diverse audiences. Social Media Management: Help manage and schedule posts across our social media platforms, engage with followers, and monitor engagement metrics. Media Relations: Support the team in researching and developing media lists, drafting press materials, and tracking media coverage related to our work. Campaign Support: Contribute to the development and execution of communication campaigns designed to raise awareness, advocate for our cause, and mobilize supporters. Event Promotion: Assist in promoting events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities through various communication channels. Research: Conduct research on trends, partners, and key audiences to help shape communication strategies and outreach efforts. Administrative Support: Provide general communication and administrative support, including maintaining media and contact lists, tracking project timelines, and organizing resources.
Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences (e.g., supporters, donors, volunteers). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace.
Preferred qualifications include: • Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of how to create engaging digital content. • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills. • Passion for the mission of The Morgan Adam’s Foundation. • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
