AOT Technical Apprentice IV - Civil Engineer
The Agency of Transportation (AOT) Construction Section is looking for seasonal Technical Apprentices interested in broadening their horizons in the field of Civil Engineering.
These opportunities will put you in the field as an inspector for the Summer months, inspecting work on active highway construction projects under the supervision and guidance of one of our experienced Resident Engineers. Daily tasks will include plan and specification reading, inspecting contractor work, and providing written reports detailing the work you oversee. Our current projects range from railroad crossings to State Highway and Interstate paving and bridge replacement. We have projects throughout the State and are always on the lookout for motivated individuals who are interested in the engineering and construction fields.
These positions are great opportunities for college students interested in engineering to gain valuable work experience. It is anticipated these positions will work up to 40 hours per week, with some flexibility. The starting salary may be negotiable based on experience and education.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree OR at least 60 college credits in civil engineering, environmental technology, engineering technology, surveying, construction technology, or architecture.
