Legal Secretary
Small Law Firm, focusing primarily in Family Law, looking for a secretary or legal secretary.
Responsibilities:
- Calendar management: Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances for attorneys and clients.
- Document preparation: Typing and formatting legal documents such as contracts, letters, briefs, and court filings.
- Transcription: Transcribing dictation from attorneys, including meeting notes and legal proceedings.
- Proofreading and editing: Ensuring accuracy and proper legal formatting of documents.
- File management: Maintaining organized client files, both electronically and physically.
- Client communication: Answering phone calls, taking messages, and directing inquiries to appropriate parties.
- Court filing: Preparing and submitting legal documents to the court.
Skills and qualifications for a legal secretary role:
- Strong typing and computer skills: Proficiency in word processing software, legal practice management systems, and email.
