UTM Central Housing Student Worker

The Office of Housing at UTM is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service-focused Student Assistant to provide administrative support. This position involves answering phones, greeting and assisting students and visitors, distributing mail, learning and utilizing housing software for basic inquiries, and performing data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced office environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate staff, and provide general information about Housing services.
• Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
• Distribute mail and packages to the appropriate offices within the Housing department.
• Learn and utilize Housing software to answer basic student inquiries related to room assignments, billing, and other housing-related matters.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records as assigned.
• Assist with filing, copying, and scanning documents.
• Support Housing staff with special projects and events as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student and departmental information.

• Excellent customer service skills with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn Housing software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to work during designated office hours.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

• Must be a currently enrolled UTM student.
• Work schedule will be based on availability and departmental needs.
• Hourly wage based on university student employment pay rates.
