Business Intelligence and Development Intern at YMCA of Northern Colorado & Southern Wyoming

Position Title: Business Intelligence and Development Intern

Overview: Our Business Intelligence and Development departments have come together to offer an exciting and hands-on summer internship opportunity. This role will provide a unique chance to contribute to both the YMCA's business intelligence initiatives and fundraising efforts while gaining experience in data analysis, trend analysis, and donor relations. You will assist in a variety of projects, ranging from constraint collection and building analytic models to indexing an online gala and fundraising auction database, all while supporting our mission to make a positive impact on the community. 

Key Responsibilities: As a Summer PIIE Intern, you will be actively involved in the following tasks: 

Business Intelligence & Data Support: • Work alongside the Director of Business Intelligence to track and analyze trends, including membership moving averages and members at risk. • Work within Salesforce to collect and visualize operational data. • Assist with a survey system conversion to Qualtrics and participate in survey development and analysis. • Perform data scrubbing, data formatting, and data entry tasks. • Contribute to various business intelligence projects including compilation of standout reviews weekly, employee file processing, and marketing-specific data projects.

 Development & Fundraising Support: • Work alongside the Director of Development to index auction items on an online database for an upcoming gala and fundraising auction event. • Participate in a special event fundraising committee. • Manage initiatives to steward first time donors. • Assist in implementing key fundraising campaigns such as WYO Giving Day, Strong Kids Tri, and other events. • Provide administrative support, including data entry and document management. Learning & Development Opportunities: • Gain a solid understanding of business intelligence within the nonprofit sector. • Tour YMCA locations to observe firsthand how fundraising drives community impact. • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects with real-world impact. • Networking opportunities with professionals in development, business intelligence, and fundraising. 

Qualifications: • Current undergraduate, ideally pursuing a degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field. • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Comfortable with data entry and analysis in Excel. • Familiarity with platforms such as Qualtrics, Listen360, and Salesforce is a plus, but not required. • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude. • A passion for community impact and nonprofit work. • Previous experience with event planning, fundraising, or data management is a plus.
