High-Performance Computing (HPC) Intern/Work Study Opportunity

What You Will Do

BCT provides design, engineering, testing, benchmark development, and operational support for specialized processing solutions designed to execute some of the world’s most complex analytic problems. From technology assessments and evaluations through system architecture and engineering to implementation and acquisition, BCT contributes to the delivery of HPC solutions that are the foundation for critical advancements across a wide array of disciplines.

BCT is seeking graduate-level students looking for an exciting paid internship. All candidates will be provided with a mentor, a challenging and exciting project, and the potential to obtain a security clearance and join BCT full time, supporting the Intelligence Community.

The projects that BCT can offer to candidates vary depending on the skills and interests of the candidate and our current needs. Currently, projects are available in:

• Unclassified benchmarking - Benchmarks measure the performance of HPC hardware (such as CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, memory modules, interconnects, etc.) and provide valuable information to application developers and other stakeholders. Such developers and stakeholders use this information to make all manner of decisions that will determine the success or failure of their applications and also to monitor the health of the HPC over time. Furthermore, because each new generation of HPC hardware includes new capabilities (e.g. increased SIMD widths, new instructions, novel memory configurations, etc.) it is imperative that benchmarks are updated regularly and test all capabilities of the hardware. Consequently, for this task, you will work with and develop deep expertise with the latest hardware. In addition, you will update and utilize numerous benchmarks to characterize the performance of that hardware.

What You Need

We are seeking a wide variety of computational skills employed in an HPC environment. To receive full consideration, candidates must be pursuing one of the following degrees (or a substantially equivalent degree)

• Computer Science
• Mathematics of Physics

AND, knowledge and/or introductory experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Parallel Programming
• Programming skills
• Working in a collaborative team environment
• Time management skills

Where You Will Work

This is a remote work location. BCT LLC is located in is Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and supports a local intelligence community customer.

Completed Graduate Degree

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Willing to move to Maryland once you are fully cleared
