Research Scientist Intern
Purpose
The Research Scientist Intern will support the investigation and development of new processing methods for human cells, tissues, and cellular-based products. Under supervision, the intern will assist with various aspects of the assigned project including experiment design, process development, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the development and execution of new product processing methods, process improvements, and product characterization efforts
· Support the evaluation and optimization of laboratory test methods, procedures, and techniques to meet project objectives
· Operate and maintain scientific test equipment required for project related tasks
· Assist in the design and execution of scientific experiments, including data collection, interpretation, and reporting of results
· Contribute to the development of project-related documents such as guidelines, protocols, reports, and presentations, in collaboration with team members
· Assist in maintaining laboratory and departmental resources, ensuring organization, cleanliness, and readiness for use
· Follow proper safety procedures in the laboratory, including the use of personal protective equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace
· Conduct comprehensive review of peer-reviewed literature to support research projects under the guidance and direction of senior staff
· Contribute to quality assurance practices in project design and execution
· Uphold integrity and maintain responsible conduct of research to ensure compliance and ethical standards are met in all research activities
· Maintain a working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR 1271, FDA 21 CFR 820, AATB standards, ISO Standards, cGMP/cGTP, other relevant regulations/standards, and internal organization policies and standard operating procedures
· Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings. Ensure completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities within defined timeframes
· Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours during weekdays or weekends with reasonable advance notice to support business/operational needs when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements
· Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Ph.D. program at an accredited 4-year university. Majoring in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related discipline
Clearance of favorable background investigation required
