Intern, Indirect Sourcing/ Procurement (Summer 2025)

As an Indirect Sourcing/Procurement Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in procurement operations, process documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will allow you to apply your coursework in a real-world business environment and contribute directly to key sourcing and operational initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you can expect to:

  • Support the Indirect Sourcing and Operations team by documenting and mapping key processes.
  • Conduct and document two key processes for audit and testing purposes: one sourcing event and one operations event.
  • Shadow team members to assist with weekly and monthly operational reporting processes.
  • Extract, transform, and load datasets into tools such as Ariba and Visual Lease.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct a sourcing event based on defined instructions, creating measurable impact for Chamberlain Group.
  • Perform a sourcing operations task, such as supplier onboarding, following established guidelines.

 

Learning Objectives:

Through this internship, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience collaborating across multiple departments and functions in a matrixed organization.
  • Learn how to apply supply chain or finance coursework to sourcing touchpoints, such as contracts, purchase orders, and supplier management.
  • Develop skills in creating custom reports, monitoring dashboards, and maintaining data using tools like Ariba and Visual Lease.
  • Provide proactive and actionable insights to support business decision-making.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should:

  • Be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Be able to work from our Oakbrook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) at least three days per week.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

 

The pay rate for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 / per hour; hourly pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
