Role
Under the direction of the Panther Club Coordinator and Group Leader(s), the Panther Club Assistant will support the academic success and character development of all scholars within the assigned classroom and supervise scholar transportation from their regular campus to the Gravois Park campus for Panther Club with the assistance of a contracted bus driver. The Panther Club Assistant will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children to learn, grow and develop.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies
• Assist the Panther Club Group Leader(s) in providing a quality, innovative and fun learning environment for all children
• Supervise the class in the absence of the Group Leader.
• Enhance children’s development in language, motor, and creative areas.
• Aid in developing children’s social skills through positive guidance.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
• Attend to the needs of individual children.
• Keep up to date with departmental policies
• Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons.
• Prepare tasks and materials.
• Provide administrative assistance as required.
• Supervise scholar transportation between campuses
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Qualified candidates must have at least one of the following:
• 60 college credit hours
• Passing score of the ParaPro Assessment or Paraprofessional Assessment
• Substitute Teaching Certificate
Qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience working as a Teaching Assistant preferred (experience working with students and families in urban communities is a plus)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Proven track record of student achievement results
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
• A tireless work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative solution finder.
• Open to feedback and committed to continuously improving.
