As a Grant Writer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of the AYCC. This position involves managing the entire grant process, including researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, submitting applications, tracking progress, reporting outcomes, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. You will also be responsible for budget preparation, coordinating contract documents, and ensuring the integrity of the grant funding is maintained throughout the grant period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research appropriate grant opportunities for the organization.
  • Ensure that grant goals are met by writing grant applications and managing all aspects of grant awards.
  • Complete grant application requirements on a regular basis and be reasonably successful in acquiring grant awards.
  • Follow departmental methodology for implementation and tracking grant data, including outcomes.
  • Maintain integrity of grant awards by ensuring that grant requirements are met.
  • Work with Program Directors to ensure grant reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with major foundations, corporations, and other sources of funding.
  • Work with Grants Team to assist with editing all grant submissions so that every proposal is reviewed by at least two team members.
  • Assist the Development Department in the successful execution of fundraising events as requested by the Director.

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is recommended; must include heavy concentration in writing.
  • Working knowledge of MS office & databases.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years prior experience writing grants preferred

WORK SCEHDULE: Generally, Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm with the flexibility to work the occasional evening and/or weekend when necessary.
