Levy Restaurants at Huntington Convention Center is excited to offer a unique internship opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in hospitality. This paid internship is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills in the hospitality industry and restaurant management, offering memorable experiences while cultivating sustainable skills.

Objective

The internship aims to equip participants with fundamental skills in Hospitality Operations. Interns will engage in daily operations, learning to balance the business partners' needs, management, and the team. Interns will have a unique experience spending time with Culinary (BOH), Banquets/
Warehouse/Small Business Operations (FOH) Accounting, HR and Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Culinary – includes working with Pastry Chef and Farm to Table Program 
    Banquets
  • Warehouse/Beverage
  • Small Business Operations – includes Starbucks & Bagel Boulevard
  • Accounting

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain practical experience in hospitality/food service operations.
    Catering, Events, and Cultural Attractions.
  • Develop knowledge of sustainable restaurant management practices.
  • Understand management concepts with emphasis placed on human relations skills and proven managerial techniques as applied by the Executive Chef department Director and Manager.
  • Identify the elements of supervision and the development of standard supervisory practices.
  • Understand the difference between Management and Leadership.
  • Acquire a fundamental understanding of management information systems and accounting.

Eligibility

  • Interest in the hospitality industry and restaurant management. 
  • Proof of active enrollment in a Hospitality Industry program. 
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with culinary and banquet work. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Open availability- including weekends. 18 yrs old and older 
  • Must be able to commute to Huntington Convention Center, Cleveland Public Hall, Great Lakes Science Center, and Cleveland Museum of Natural History. 
  • Enthusiasm for learning and working in a fast-paced cultivating environment.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
