The Training Specialist will play a pivotal role in empowering both office and manufacturing associates by providing comprehensive training on the Epicor ERP system, which serves as Ohio Gratings' "True North." Epicor is central to our operations, driving process improvements, efficiency, and seamless communication across the business. This role will focus on ensuring associates at all levels are proficient in using Epicor to support accurate, timely, and effective work processes. By providing expert training, creating user-friendly materials, and offering ongoing support, the Training Specialist will contribute to the organization's mission to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and maintain Ohio Gratings' competitive edge. This position requires a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of Epicor, and a commitment to making the system an integral part of our associates' daily workflow.
The Training Specialist will lead and assist with various training programs for office and manufacturing associates, focusing on ERP (Epicor) processes, improvements, and best practices. This role will require strong communication skills to effectively train diverse groups and the ability to manage different learning styles. The Training Specialist must be passionate about providing exceptional training, ensuring associates have the knowledge and tools to succeed. Training will occur in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, and moving machinery. A flexible schedule may be required to meet the needs of the training program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Passion: Conduct ERP (Epicor) training for both office and manufacturing associates, ensuring that training is thorough, engaging, and effective. Demonstrate a passion for training by delivering high-quality, detailed, and impactful sessions.
Honoring Our Commitments: Collaborate with Senior Leadership and the ERP team to design training sessions that align with the company's goals and objectives. Ensure that training is delivered on time and with accuracy, adhering to the company’s promise to "Make it Right and Ship When Promised."
Caring to Earn Trust: Review associate ERP transactions to identify training opportunities and ensure associates' continued success. Take the time to understand the needs of associates and adjust training methods to suit varying learning styles. Foster an environment of trust and support, ensuring associates feel confident in their ability to use the ERP system.
Sustaining Our Future: Assist in the development and maintenance of ERP-related processes and procedures that improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness, helping the organization to protect resources and sustain long-term success. Ensure that all associates have the training they need to contribute to the company's growth and profitability.
Transforming Ourselves: Continually enhance your knowledge of Epicor ERP and related technologies to remain at the forefront of industry trends. Help to drive innovation by offering new ideas for training techniques, ERP improvements, and process optimization. Encourage associates to embrace new solutions and innovative approaches.
Develop Training Materials: Create and maintain instructional documents, SOPs, and training tools to ensure effective learning. Design these materials with the user in mind, promoting ease of use and clarity. Utilize "solutioneering" to tailor materials for both office and manufacturing associates.
ERP System Support: Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for ERP users, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly. Assist with maintaining user security codes and access permissions, aligning with our principle of “Honoring our Commitments” to protect sensitive information.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess training needs, ensuring that programs align with the business's overall goals. By collaborating with leadership and other departments, help ensure that the training process is continuously evolving to meet the organization’s needs.
Implement New Solutions: Assist in the implementation of new training solutions and ERP system upgrades, ensuring that changes are effectively communicated and adopted by all associates. Support the company’s mission to always be the first-choice organization for associates, customers, and markets.
Help Desk Support: Provide ongoing help desk support for ERP users, assisting with troubleshooting, user guidance, and other support needs to ensure smooth system operation.
Other Duties: Support the broader corporate learning and development initiatives as needed. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work will take place in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, and moving machinery on the manufacturing floor.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and move between different areas of the workplace.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules to meet the needs of the training program.
- Comfortable with varying temperature and climate conditions in the manufacturing setting.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business Administration, Training and Development, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of training, development, or instructional experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with Epicor ERP or other ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present and train diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills to manage multiple training initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
