We are seeking a motivated Research Technician to join our dynamic and collaborative laboratory. The ideal candidate will support research projects involving cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and protein analysis. This position requires hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, qPCR and real-time PCR , and Western blotting, among other molecular biology methods. The candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the lab, experimental procedures, and data analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Perform and maintain mammalian cell culture experiments, including cell seeding, subculturing, freezing, and thawing.

• Conduct molecular biology techniques such as DNA /RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, qPCR and real-time PCR .

• Perform protein analysis techniques, including Western blotting and SDS -PAGE .

• Assist with the design and execution of experiments under supervision.

• Record and analyze experimental data accurately and maintain laboratory notebooks.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, and ensure an organized workspace.

• Collaborate with other team members, participate in lab meetings, and assist with training new personnel or students.

• Follow lab safety protocols and institutional guidelines for biological research.

• Assist with general lab maintenance tasks, including ordering supplies and organizing inventories.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR a high school diploma/GED (some college preferred) with 1-2 years of related lab experience. 

 

Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary. 

 

Successful candidate will be expected to exhibit individual initiative, work independently; be technically proficient and accurate; effectively communicate in both written reports and presentations; initiate and ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures; and possess attention to detail. 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques.

• Proficiency in molecular biology methods such as qPCR, real-time PCR , and nucleic acid extraction.

• Experience with Western blotting and protein analysis techniques.

• Experience with other molecular biology techniques such as cloning, immunostaining, or ELISA .

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow protocols meticulously.

• Ability to analyze data and prepare basic reports.

• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

• Familiarity with laboratory software for data analysis.

• Prior experience in a research or academic laboratory setting.
